I had to travel from Graph Expo (Chicago) to DMA (San Francisco) and the difference was stark. Graph Expo was turning into a Marketing Show, where every printer is trying to change into a communications service company, and the technology companies there reflected that. The show was alive and quite vibrant. DMA was much tamer, and seemed to be “the list broker” show. The separation of the halls made it seem much more disconnected than Graph Expo. My only suggestion to both showes would be that they should either not hold these at the same time in the following years, or….HOLD THEM TOGETHER.
